Ahmad Baldin (Suleimaniya, 1954) is a Kurd, born in Iraq. He was educated in Bagdad, Rome and Florence. Since around 1990 he works in The Netherlands. He paints unassuming, reflective landscapes and cities with symbols from different cultures that each tell the story of displacement and longing and hope for a liveable world.
